Install Google USB Drivers on Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, and XP

Google’s Nexus and Pixel lineup of devices is all about getting the taste of pure stock Android. If you own a Nexus or Pixel device, you own the freedom of tweaking your device in the way you want.

You can unlock your device’s bootloader, root it, install custom firmware/ROMs, tweak the device with mods, and much more. The thing to note here is that everything we just mentioned is only possible when your device is connected to your PC first through ADB or Fastboot.

But connectivity over ADB or Fastboot requires some drivers.

So, today I will share with you how you can install Google USB drivers for Nexus and Pixel devices on your Windows computer.

Install Google USB Drivers on Windows

  1. Download the driver from this link: Click Here
  2. Extract/unzip the downloaded file to a separate folder on your PC.
  3. Turn on “USB debugging” from developer options and connect your device to the PC.
  4. Open “Device manager” on your computer.
  5. Find your device name from the list of devices.
  6. Right-click on it and select “Update driver software”. If it’s not visible directly, look under the Other Devices list.
  7. Select “Browse my computer for driver software”, then hit the “Browse” button and select the folder where you extracted the latest_usb_driver_windows.zip file in Step 2 above.
  8. Keep the “Include subfolders” checkbox ticked and hit the “Next” button to begin the driver installation.
  9. If Windows asks for your permission to install the driver, accept it.

That’s all! Now you are ready to go. Connect your Nexus or Pixel device to your computer and start modding it in the way you want.

  1. Would not work on my HP pc win 11. Device manager sees my P7 as a Samsung nexus phone.
Cannot see P7 in file explorer. I do have another Win 11 pc that I can see the phone in file explorer!
Cannot find a way to see it on my HP!!! However, I have been able to see any Galaxy phone I have had on it.
