How to Stop Media Files From Showing Up in Android Gallery

We have a lot of great Android apps. One of the most useful apps for Android users is the Android gallery app.

The gallery app allows you to view all the photos and videos on your device. You can also create albums and sort through your images by using the Android Gallery app.

By default, the gallery app in Android OS is designed to show all the photos and videos.

But sometimes we don’t want the gallery to show some specific photos or videos.

So, to make it work, here we are with this article to share with you how you can hide media files from the Android gallery.

Hide Media Files from Android Gallery

Accomplishing this task is effortless. All you need to do is to create a file in the folder where images or videos are present that you want to hide.

Follow the simple steps below:

  1. Download any good file explorer for your Android device if you don’t have it on your device already.
  2. Now go to the directory in your phone’s internal or external storage where the media files are present that you want to hide.
  3. Create a new file named .nomedia in that directory.

That’s all!

Now check your Android gallery, and you’ll find that all the media files in that specific folder are now hidden.
